'Le Tournesol' beauty salon offers four special body treatments. They are the Ayurvedic Massage and the Anti-Cellulite Treatment.

1. Ayurvedic Massage

This special form of massage is based on the science of Ayurveda: an ancient and proven system of health care from India. The goal of Ayurveda is to achieve optimum good health and a balance between body and mind. Sustaining the right lifestyle and a healthy diet is essential therefore Ayurveda provides plenty of advice on how to achieve a healthy and harmonious life. Herbal remedies and many other techniques are also employed in this ancient system of health care.

One of these techniques is the so-called Ayurvedic massage. Ayurvedic massage is a gentle but stimulating body massage using slowly warmed, fragrant, herb infused oils in different combinations to suit the mood and personality of the client. Massage techniques are used to apply appropriate pressure to the so-called marma points (specific vital points of the body).

The treatment is deeply relaxing, harmonises, detoxifies, strengthens and revitalises the entire body. It not only relieves back pain, stiffness and sports injuries but also stimulates various bodily organs and systems. This massage also improves lymph flow and stimulates the immune system. Furthermore, Ayurvedic massage can be very beneficial in relieving emotional blocks.

This massage is especially advised in case of stress, burn-out etc.

The complete massage (torso front and back, head, hands and feet) takes about 75 minutes (including 'intake' to determine the combination of oils) and costs €84.50.

2. Anti-Cellulite Treatment

This treatment is indispensable in the fight against cellulite (“orange-peel” skin).

Many women will be familiar with this problem: dimpled skin on the thighs, buttocks, hips and upper arms. But … it can be reduced or prevented!

Poor skin metabolism (especially that of the elastic connective tissue in the innermost layer of the skin) is the main cause of cellulite. A few years ago Weleda introduced a special product to combat this problem; namely Birch Cellulite Oil. This oil is a unique combination of plant extracts (young organic Birch leaves) that stimulate the body’s own regulating processes and natural plant oils (vitamin rich Wheatgerm and organic Rosemary) that aid circulation and the regenerative powers of skin and connective tissue.

Contraindications for Birch Cellulite Oil: not to be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

In spring 2007 Weleda also introduced a product that works particularly effectively in combination with Birch Cellulite Oil: Birch Body Scrub. This mild exfoliant gently massages the skin with natural plant wax pearls, invigorating circulation and supporting cell renewal without drying or disrupting the skin's natural balance: the ideal preparation, in fact, for the Birch Cellulite Oil treatment after your shower.

When used in combination, these two products produce firmer, smoother thighs, buttocks, hips and upper arms within 28 days. The effect can be boosted with a special anti-cellulite treatment.

Briefly, this treatment includes exfoliation of the problem areas with the Birch Body Scrub, ideally preparing the skin for a massage of these areas with the Birch Cellulite Oil that follows, and advice about diet and exercise to achieve or maintain the desired results.

After the treatment you will be offered a glass of Weleda’s natural health supplement Birch Elixir to cleanse the system from the inside out.

This treatment takes about 45 minutes and is available as separate sessions or as part of a course of treatment. Separate treatments cost €59.50 and for a course of five treatments within a six-week period there is a discount of €10.
